Monster Hunter Outlanders is the free-to-play, open-world Monster Hunter for iOS and Android, developed by TiMi Studio Group under licence from Capcom. It launched worldwide on October 29, 2026, and the developers released a launch code the same day. Codes are called CDKeys in the game, and they hand out Rutacoins, Zenny and hunting supplies such as Mega Potions and Energy Drinks.

Monster Hunter Outlanders codes are one-time rewards: each one works once per account, and most will expire after a campaign ends. The launch codes are worth redeeming early: the Rutacoins from the main launch code are the most valuable part, and the supplies save you a few gathering trips in the first hours. Reward amounts can differ slightly between sources, so the in-game mail is the final word on what you receive.

Why your Monster Hunter Outlanders code is not working

• You are below Adventure Rank 5. The Event Center and the CDKey box only unlock at AR 5.
• A typo. Launch codes are written in lower case, such as mho1029. Copy and paste them to be safe.
• It expired. Campaign codes have end dates, and some are only announced a short time before they stop working.
• Already used. Each code works once per account.
• Region or campaign limits. Some codes, for example ones tied to magazines or partners, may only work for a certain region. Check the original announcement.

Monster Hunter Outlanders has a gacha, but it is narrower than in many mobile games. According to Pocket Gamer, recruitment banners are only for characters — weapons and armour are crafted from monster materials, as in the main series, so your hunting gear does not depend on luck.

• Standard and Featured Contracts are spent on Standard and Featured Recruitment. You earn them from quests or by exchanging Rutacoins.
• Pity from the beta tests: a guaranteed SSR after 50 pulls on the beginner banner, 90 on the standard banner and 120 on the featured banner, plus a guaranteed SR every 10 pulls. These numbers come from closed tests and may differ in the launch version.
• Buddies are no longer gacha. After the second closed beta, the developers removed the Buddy gacha and added free ways to get featured SSR Buddies.

That is why the Rutacoins from codes matter: they can be turned into contracts for character recruitment. If you are a free player, start on the cheaper beginner banner and save the rest for a featured character you actually want.

What is Monster Hunter Outlanders?

Monster Hunter Outlanders takes the series to a new open world called Aesoland. It mixes monster-hunting action with survival elements and is built for touch controls, with full controller support confirmed by the developers. You can explore and hunt alone or team up in a squad of up to four players.

• Seven weapon types at launch, with more promised in future updates.
• Three Buddies join the hunt: the Palico, the Rutaco and the Trillan.

Can you play Monster Hunter Outlanders on PC?

There is no official PC version at launch — Monster Hunter Outlanders is only on iOS and Android. Some players run the Android version through an emulator such as BlueStacks, LDPlayer or MuMu Player, but performance varies and there is no official statement that emulators are allowed, so you do it at your own risk. A safer way to play on a bigger screen is to mirror your phone to a TV or monitor and use a controller.

Codes work the same whichever device you play on, because rewards are tied to your account.

Tips for spending your free rewards

1. Redeem every launch code on day one so you do not miss one that expires early.
2. Save Rutacoins for something you want rather than spending them on the first offer you see.
3. Put Zenny into one main weapon. Upgrading one weapon fully is better than spreading money across all seven types.
4. Keep the potions for harder hunts. Early quests are forgiving, while new monsters later in the story hit much harder.
5. Play with friends. Squads of up to four make early hunts faster and safer.
